Palmer Ag Ed./FFA

The classroom, ag.shop and FFA activities are designed to acquaint students enrolled in the following classes with career opportunities related to production agriculture and agribusiness.  Additionally, leadership skills will be developed that will enable students to assume roles in their home communities that will enhance citizenship and life quality.  Special emphasis will be given to career fields experiencing shortages of skilled agriculture and agribusiness personnel.               


Class Schedule

Period 1:  Ag Shop - Safety.  Wood and metal fabrication, electrical wiring, power mechanics.

Period 2:  Exploratory Ag for 8th grade students

Period 3:  Leadership and Career Development

Period 4:  Ag Ed II

Period 5:  Ag Ed I

Period 6:  Ag Ed III & IV (Juniors and Seniors)

Period 7:  Planning

Period 8:  Semester 1 - Science of Earth Systems         Semester 2 - Ag Sales


About instructor, Dennis Mottl:    

Lives at Fullerton, Nebraska.  Wife is Barb Mottl.  Three children - D.J. (Ag Ed instructor and farmer at North Bend, Nebraska),  Matthew lives at Palmer, Nebraska (Feed plant manager and cow-calf producer), Deanna Finke lives at Gothenburg (Works at Gothenburg Hospital).  All 3 children are married.  Dennis and Barb have 9 grandchildren.  Dennis and Barb have been married for 42 yeras.

Dennis:  Born at Ord, Nebraska.  Family moved to Omaha during grade school.  1967 graduate of Omaha South High School.  (FFA member for 4 years including Nebraska State FFA officer)  Served in the United States Marine Corps including 1 year in Vietnam.  Graduated from UNL in 1975.  Previously taught 30 years at Fullerton, Nebraska then 6 years employment in ag sales.
